Research Associate in Modeling Particulate Processes (CMAC)

This position is appointed with the new CMAC Future Manufacturing Research Hub  in the Litster group at Sheffield.  Initially the core focus of the position will be mechanic modelling of spherical agglomeration for continuous manufacture ofpharmaceuticals. More broadly the post holder will have a leadership role in multiscale modelling work in the group, both for traditional processes that build up structured particulate products e.g. wet granulation, and novel technologies, e.g. spherical agglomeration. Modelling tools used will vary according to application but are likely to including process simulation using population balance modelling (gFormulate software) and DEM simulations. The group works closely with industry sponsors. Validation of the models for industrially relevant conditions and transfer of the models to industrial practitioners is an important part of the job role. The post holder will be the main point of contact for liaison and communication with project partners in industry, and at other universities within the CMAC Hub. The post holder should hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field of science or engineering. To find out how to apply and for more information on the post please follow the attached instructions.
