DTC 2012 Cohort

DTC 2012 Cohort Induction Week
The centre's first cohort of DTC students commenced their PhD journey with their DTC induction week on 22nd October 2012 at the University of Strathclyde. This event kick-started their 10 week residential training program where the students will take part in a University road trip to visit all seven universities within the Centre and gain knowledge in all aspects of continuous manufacturing and crystallisation. The activity packed induction week included introduction lectures on operations management of supply chain, pharmaceutical science and technology of drugs, electronic lab notebooks, process analytical technologies and an industrial perspective of continuous crystallisation presented by Dr Jan Vos from Xstalbio. The cohort engaged with existing researchers through a ‘speed dating' style poster session and an interactive lab tour. The social program also included a visit to Glengoyne Distillery for a whiskey tour. The complementary tasting session certainly helped the scientific conversation flow between the students.
