Outstanding Training & Skills Development

About Our Training Programmes

CMAC offers a vibrant and innovative postgraduate training programme; the MSc in Advanced Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and the CMAC PhD Training Programme. We also have close links with the CORE ITN on Continuous Resolution and Deracemization of Chiral Compounds by Crystallization which is led by CMAC's Prof Joop ter Horst.  We are currently establishing an Early Career Researcher Academy, and we are also preparing the delivery of CPD to our Industry Partners. CMAC provides ongoing postgraduate development training and transferable skills development for all levels of staff and students. Collective training across CMAC has occurred at intensive creativity days, collaboration workshops and at our various CMAC events.

Industry Mentors

All CMAC PhD and post-doctoral researchers benefit from support from internationally leading supervisors and expert industry practitioners and opinion leaders through the established CMAC Industrial Mentor scheme. Mentor groups aligned with the CMAC Future Manufacturing Research Hub scope meet regularly to enable industry experts to coach the students in their research and provide industrial relevance and context for their work. The meetings are a mixture of telecon and face-to-face meetings and involve both Tier 1 members and several Tier 2 companies. These mentor meetings have already enabled a student to access industrial analytical equipment and have also facilitated placements within the companies giving students industrial experience. This is a key avenue for the research and learning in CMAC to be transferred into industry and an efficient way for companies to access and influence the ongoing research.

We also have close links with the CORE ITN on Continuous Resolution and Deracemization of Chiral Compounds by Crystallization which is led by CMAC's Prof Joop ter Horst.
