Cancer Research UK Manufacturing

The Formulation Unit holds an Investigation Medicinal Product Manufacturing Authorisation licence from the Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority for the production of parenterals and capsules. The new SIPBS facilities house dedicated labelling and storage facilities as well as plant rooms and support facilities for the GMP manufacturing area.

Equipment includes:

• Isolators capable of handling cytotoxic powders.
• Water for injection (WFI) systems,
• Pharmaceutical grade washers,
• Sterilizing ovens and autoclaves, ampoule and vial filling systems
• Pilot scale freeze-driers.

This equipment is housed and maintained under (grade A to D) clean room conditions. These are dedicated production facilities are not used for teaching purposes.
