Postgraduate Study
The Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences has a thriving postgraduate community with around 150 students from all over the world. Our students benefit from world-class facilities and we have recently seen the opening of a new £36m state-of-the-art builidng in the centre of Glasgow.
Postgraduate Taught Courses
We offer the following postgraduate taught courses both on campus and via distance learning. Courses can be carried out on a full or part time basis.
- Clinical Pharmacy - MSc or PGDip
- Pharmaceutical Analysis - MSc or PGDip
- Pharmaceutical Quality and Good Manufacturing Practice - MSc or PGDip or PGCert
- Analysis of Medicines MSc or PGDip or PGCert - by distance learning

- Biomedical Sciences - MSc or PGDip
We also offer both a conversion and full course in Pharmacist Independent Prescribing:

Postgraduate Research
SIPBS offers a vibrant research environment for postgraduate research training. We provide excellent research support and facilities for students studying towards the following higher degrees:
- MPhil/PhD
- EngD Medical Devices (administered by the Department of Bioengineering Doctoral Training Centre)
- DPharm
- MRes degrees in
- Biomedical Sciences with specializations in Biochemistry, Immunology, In vivo Sciences Microbiology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Parasitology, Toxicology
