Searches
changed the code behind the "user lookup" searches on the info/search page, staff counsellees "find", group "add user" and the radiation systems of work "add user" so that it will do a boolean "and" if more than one word is entered e.g. putting in "John Smith" will now search for "John AND Smith". Typing in OR will make it do an "OR" search. Previously it would try and match the entire string in each field of the user table (so it would look for a match of "John Smith" in the surname field.

Department
Started to update the system to handle the move of the applied phys, biosicence, immunology, phys&pharm and pharmasci departments to the new SIPBS. On the dev-server created the new department and updated clusters, staff, classes, and labs, then began to test each "module" database to see what needs fixing/tweaking changing. Started with lab stock database, nearly completed, and updated sections of the SoW at same time as updating search (above). Still to complete these and work out how to manage the radiation records database as it needs to keep track of the old departments as the licencing applies to the old departments just now.

Newsletter

Wednesday 01 November 2006 02:15 pm

SPIDER's newsletter has had a bit of a holiday - I've not written one since May, so this months has a lot to fit in. Various changes have been made to SPIDER over the summer, but a large proportion of SPIDER development time has been lost to creating a modifying systems for in use within the new SIPBS - primarily the Electonic Ordering System (EOS), radiation records database, and the new SIPBS website. I've also been working a lot on a "script tutor" package, that is basically a prescription quiz for pharmacists, as part of the REAP project.
